Following a 20-year career as a corporate marketing executive, Tana Poppino
became a full time professional barrel racer in 2003 and fulfilled her lifelong
dream of qualifying for her first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in 2006.
She has subsequently returned to the NFR in 2007 and 2010. During her career
she has been the barrel racing champion at major rodeos such as the Calgary
Stampede, The Ft. Worth Stock Show Rodeo, Greeley Stampede, Nationa
Western Stock Show Rodeo, Cody (WY) 4th of July Rodeo, Oklahoma State Fair,
Louisiana State Fair and the Sand Hills Stock Show Rodeo (Odessa TX).
On March, 20, 2011, Tana finished in second place and pocketed $10,000 in the first
ever Cinch Shootout held in conjunction with Rodeo Houston. This special competition for the barrel racers, bull riders, bronc riders and bareback riders featured contestants
who had one of the ten largest rodeos of 2010.

Tana has been an early adopter of online communications on behalf of her and
her sponsors. In addition to this web site, she has a popular Fan Page on
FaceBook, writes a weekly blog that appears on a number of rodeo and
women’s sports web sites and has her own weekly radio program. She is
frequently interviewed by local, regional and national magazines, newspapers
magazines and television programs. She also conducts special programs for Girl Scouts at rodeos which have been endorsed by Girl Scouts USA.
Tana’s husband Marty and her son Brodie are also rodeo contestants. Marty is a
steer wrestler while Brodie competes in all of the timed events while attending
Western Oklahoma State Colllege on a rodeo scholarship.
